One experiences alternately suffering and happiness in the present birth according to the sinful and virtuous deeds of previous lives. Business, money, position, family and reputation are established according to good deeds; problems, sufferings and disappointments arise according to sins.
It is a foregone decision as to when a soul is born. A soul is formed in the mother's womb by pre-determination of which planets must occupy which place to give the karma of that day. The horoscope is a system of planets arranged like that.
Planetary strength and Dashas
Lagna and the benefits of the planets vary with the time of birth. No planet is purely benefic or purely malefic — each provides a combination. But the more powerful planets do good or evil depending on their strength during their orbital periods. About 75% of a person's body and mind are affected by the vibrations of the planet that rules the current Dasha.
That is why actions, thoughts, successes and failures change. Although all planets carry prenatal reactions, only Saturn shifts once every two-and-a-half years — alternating good and bad according to what we are currently doing. This is why Lord Saturn is referred to as Karma Karaka.
