In general we worship our Kula Devatha — the family deity — in temples or elsewhere. No other Devata can fulfil a person's desire without the permission of the Kula Devata. Therefore the leader's Kuladevata pooja is performed in accordance with Tantra Sastra.
The Devata is invoked (Aavahanam) into a lamp; the Prana Prathishta of the Devata is carried out inside the lamp; and the intense Tantra ritual is conducted continuously for three days (72 hours).
During this period the Sannidhyam (divine power) of the Kula Devata is transferred from its temple to the lamp present in the pooja and remains there until the project concludes. The power of the Devata inside the temple's Idol / Peedom becomes void, and no one else receives blessings from that temple except the client we serve.
This teaching is preserved and transmitted through the Sri Dattatreya – Sri Parashurama Guru Lineage by His Holiness Sri Guruji Durga Prasad Garu.
