Lord Sri Parashurama is one of the eight Chiranjivis — the eight immortals who remain alive on Earth until the end of all Yugas: Vyasa, Hanuman, Parashurama, Vibhishana, Aswathama, Mahabali, Kripacharya and Markandeya. Among them Lord Sri Parashurama holds the responsibility for all Sastras, divine weapons and Astras. The Kalki Purana states that he will re-emerge at the end of time as the martial Guru of the Kalki avatar.
Because Lord Parashurama has cursed the kings and rulers — including today's elected rulers — no individual can adorn the throne without first pleasing him.
Knowingly or unknowingly, political leaders are cursed every day by the common public, by fellow politicians and by opposition parties as the result of their governing decisions. If a leader constructs a bridge for one locality, one sector will be happy, another sector will be unhappy, some will be affected during construction, some will be dissatisfied with the project — and curses will accumulate. Curses from humans, Pitrus, Devatas and Acharyas all interfere with the client's political career.
Lord Parashurama is the only avatar who can remove any kind of curse from a ruler. The Sri Parashurama Saba Vimochana Tantra Ritual is conducted continuously for three days (72 hours) to obtain Saba Vimochan from the Lord.
